Petroleum Experts (Petex) Renews Valuable Software Licenses within the Department of Geosciences at Mississippi State University

Petroleum Experts (Petex) has generously donated educational licenses of their MOVE software suite to the Department of Geosciences. This continued partnership continues to provide valuable experiential learning opportunities for students majoring in geosciences with hands-on experience and knowledge of industry level software. Through the knowledge attained in the classroom students are able to continue applying those concepts within the industry standard MOVE Suite. Offering these value-added experiences not only strengthens the students’ academic knowledge, it boost their confidence as well as makes them marketable candidates in the workforce in the field of interest upon graduation.

This software suite includes MOVE, 2D Kinematic, 3D Kinematic, Geomechanical Modelling, Fracture Modelling, Fault Response Modelling, Fault Analysis, Stress Analysis, Move Link for Petrel, Move Link for OpenWorks and Move Link for GST. This software will be utilized within senior undergraduate and graduate split-level courses as well as educational research initiatives performed within the Department of Geosciences at Mississippi State University.
